IME the Tech M would only work if I kept up with manual removal. It seems like once its "trimmed" back a little, the tech m has a chance. If I were in your shoes, I would keep the mag where it is, dosing Tech M, and do manual removal daily. For that, I would set up a felt filter sock in the sump and siphon it all into that so your not constantly changing water. Just make sure you stop before the sock overflows! :)

Give me a shout if you have any questions. Good luck!

What was the mag level before you added tech m?

I think it's not so much the final number of mag. But what matters is how much it went up adding tech m.
For example. If the tech m u added only bumped it up 200 points. It might not be enough tech m added.

Also. Are you 100% sure it's Bryopsis?

Its a battle you can't win. Save yourself a lot of headache and start fresh. Save whatever you can, dip frags in a mix of tank water and peroxide, remove whatever corals you have from their plugs and trow the plugs away. Trow out whatever can't be dipped. If you don't want to trow it out, put whatever corals or live rock you want to try to save, in a bucket with a pump, and heater and keep it without lights for a month or so. Since both tanks are part of one system, buy a few lb of clean live rock and start fresh. Briopsis is tough, I think the only thing that eats it, are tuxedo urchins and fox face. But i am not 100%. Good luck, you'll need it.

IME, Tech M worked only after manual removal. It worked by preventing grow back, but not when you have a full size bush of it. I used to have a lot in my frag tank which has no CUC, I dosed tech M daily and do pull outs on every WC, 2-3 WCs later and my HA problems are gone.

How long have you been dosing mag? When I had a big outbreak, I've dosed for almost 2 months for it to kill most of it. And you do have to pull out the big chunks to have any chance of making headway.

the bryopsis roots are already establish in the rocks on the top tank. try keeping mg above 1800 for another 2 weeks. i didnt see results till after 3 weeks. however they do return if mg levels drops.

cmantis I was having a ****** of a time last year with bryopsis. All i did was keep my mag levels where they were supposed to be 1350 to 1400 dosing with Tech m and using tech m as my primary mag supplement and it went away. I did raise it above 1500 but for only a short time. It took a few weeks but it went away

api algae fix works invert coral safe fresh and marine version is the same did on my own tank wonderful stuff better than algae x which is a pain to use

I don't see how algea x was a pain to use. Every two days, no reactors, heavy skim, no trace element dosing.
