So for the past 2-3 weeks I have had my mag at 1800-1900 in the hopes of killing off some nuisance algae including bryopsis however besides for one patch it doesn't seem to be affected. This is using Kent Tech-M btw.

Yeh I took my reactors and skimmer offline. What to try next I have tried turbos, lettuce nudis and blunt end sea hares :(

Here is the kicker. I have two identical tanks with identical equipment (pumps lights etc) plumbed into the same sump and only one has this problem the other is clean as can be.

Is it maybe a fish or invert in your second tank that loves the nuiscance algea?? Your purple is def a difference and cld have a taste for it. I wld think nutrient control could help what kind of skimmer you using. I had good luck with carbon dosing but could also try lanthanum chloride, that was next on my list to try if carbon failed. Could also pull the rock out and shoot it with hydrogen peroxide. Did that to a few pieces that i could remove easy and works awsome. Read you could also dose it on other forums but i didnt try it. Btw love the male anthia he looks awsome.

that's a weird situation  with both tanks on the same system.

thinking out of the box a bit -- the tank with the issue is the one with most of the fish. I assume you feed that one the most, right? do you think it is from the food you are feeding, possibly a bit too much in that tank?

I found no invert or fish that would touch bryopsis. When the Tech-M did not work for me on two separate dosing attempts, I resorted to manually pulling each rock out and rinsing/scrubbing under the sink. This did not keep up with the growth so after 6+ months, I pulled all my inverts and corals out into a temporary QT tank and hypo'd the system. That actually worked but it took over a month and I would not recommend it unless it's a last resort.
