Hey everyone,

I am currently contemplating buying a controller for my tank... As of now i have nothing so i am sure either will be better than what i am using... Are they really worth the money? what is the biggest benefit of owning your controller?everything is running great with out it! a little ghetto but running....... So which one do you guys and gals prefer Apex or reefkeeper?

Thank you in advanced for any input! :D

I have not used any other controller other then the apex. I absolutely love how it made reef keeping alot easier on my life and being able to monitor my tank such as equipment on and off, power outages, temp, ph and there is alot more you can do. I have the full apex model.

I have the apex its up and running doing the basics lights on off, temp control, ph monitor, runs power heads etc. I have not been able to do the iPhone set up yet or the logic statements for intense if your return pump shuts off then your skimmer should shut or anything to that sense. I can't seem to figure out how to do all of that. you need to have a real sense of computer skills or you will be stuck like me.

I was on the fence with getting a controller but got the apex and the more I use it the more I LOVE it. I can not compare it because I have not used the other but I with what I have done with my Apex and what I can do in the future - I am VERY happy with my purchase.

In my sump room I run the main unit with PH probe and temp then - a PM2 with Salinity probe, eb8, ALD with two sensors, I have an additional PM1 that I will hook up with my Calcium reactor for the additional PH probe, then upstairs I have a VDM for the lights (acans) also a PM1 with additional temp gauge and an additional Eb8.

I have displays up and down.

I have switches set for my water changes and many alarms and like I said the more I use it the more I love it.

Call Apex support - they are AWESOME - they helped my out immensely setting my stuff up and when I was having issues with my phone set up - they walked me through the entire process. They have GREAT customer service.
