Removing deep sand bed

I'm going to start to remove my deep sand bed from my display tank its 4 inch deep. Should I take it all out at one time or should I take it out 1 inch per day with a 40% water Change between.

I'd say go very slow, because it's probably gonna stir up a lot of stuff...I'd use extra filter socks and keep a diatom filter ready to go, besides the WC

Siphon it out slowly and try not to kick up too much dust ur Def going have to clean ur system after and do a nice water change but I have switched sand with and running system so It can Def be done

i would syphon it out a little at a time with your routine water changes.

I sucked mine out a little at a time with a 1 inch hose during weekly water changes once a week for 5 weeks.
