Does putting a sheet of styrofoam under the tank will help level it?

yes, it does, but it needs to be very stiff, it's not really for leveling, but for absorbing irregularities in the base. If it's too soft, the tank can crack.

dam, how can you tell the soft from the stiff. Ive seen some sheets at home depot. Not sure of the stiffness on them.

Styrofoam absorbs any unevenness of your stand against your glass tank, as glass doesn't like to bend (between tank and stand). If tank is unlevel, styrofoam will NOT make it level

tank manufacturers don't recommend putting foam between tank and stand.

My tank manufacturer told me to use homasote board.

marine land doesn't recommend it.

Depending on what type of tank frame/frameless and build... foam may not be needed at all. You should find out with your manufacturer before attempting to use foam under the tank.

Na I'm staying away from the foam. I got them shims ready to use if needed
