Shims level it (under the stand)

Styrofoam absorbs any unevenness of your stand against your glass tank, as glass doesn't like to bend (between tank and stand). If tank is unlevel, styrofoam will NOT make it level

The pink Owens Corning (pink panther ;) ) 1/2" insulation will work. You can find it in HD.

Depending on what type of tank frame/frameless and build... foam may not be needed at all. You should find out with your manufacturer before attempting to use foam under the tank.
