After cleaning off my old dead rock with a power washer, I want to start making it live rock. So i brewed up 30 gallons of water in a brute can, got it to the correct temp, ph, salinity, added a power head and am about to add the old dead rock into it.

Is there anything else i should do before I do this?
I am also adding a few pieces of live rock to help the process go faster. I will put 30 pounds of dead rock and 30-40 lbs of live rock into this garbage can.

Is that ok? Is that to much rock in the garbage can?

Will all the rock become live after a while? I plan on letting it sit for a couple of weeks and checking it out!

Test to make sure you have an ammonia spike first. I haven't added lights the couple times I've cured rock for fear of growing algae in there. Drop in a few pellets or flakes every now and again to feed the bacteria. When you're done curing, dump the water that was in the garbage can since the rock will have leached some unwanted nutrients in there
