Cool Starfish

On my Hawaiian order, I got a deep sea purple starfish. Didn't exactly know what I was getting, but I figured what the hell.

Anyway, this thing is HUGE. Probably 18" tip to tip, and the arms are probably an inch in diameter. I'll try to get a better picture, but here's one. For reference, the 2 fish in the picture are each 6"

As usual, sorry for the crappy picture.

Anyone know anything about them, lmk

Looks like a purple morph of Linckia Laevigata.

It's hard to tell in the pic, are it's arm smooth and bumpy like a linkia's, or are they kind of furry?

Definitely a little fuzzy. FYI, the overflow it's on is 12" wide

the color is way off too. It's an awesome purple, not maroon.

finally came out from behind the rocks.
Color is still off. It's an amazing purple, the color of the word purple
again, the overflow is 12" wide for size reference

Yup
Frankly, it's so big, there aren't too many tanks around that could take it. Plus, it ended up being very expensive. It filled half a shipping box, so freight killed me. Can't imagine there would be too many takers for $150.
Poor me, just need to keep it.

Anyone know what it eats?
I certainly have lots of microalgae, detrius, pods, etc

I don't know what it eats, but I hope you have a lot of it based on the size of it

i could be wrong but i would imagine it eats detrius and microalgae.
