Hey Fellow Reefers,

I just wanted your honest opinion on my new setup. It's 180 gallon with dual overflow. For filtration I'm running a 36 Ruby Elliot Trigger sump with a 300 SRO SSS Reef Octopus Skimmer. My lights are two AI Vegas and on Ai Hydra. I also have a 150lbs of live rock and 180lbs of live sand.

So give me your honest opinion.

Thanks for Looking

Thanks Guys.
STHILL-the tank is only a month old.
SaltwaterinBrooklyn- I actually had it higher, but my blue throat triggers decided they didn't like it and brought down, So I decided to keep low. LOL

DK638- I think its some Figi and not sure of the other. I also have more in the sump. As you know the trigger system has a lot of room.

Shark- I know it looks weird for now, but I'm actually going to put a few more pieces of mag rock to connect them, so it would look like a drop off. Do you think that would look good?, If not what would suggest.

thanks a lot guys for the feed back

I actually love minimal rockscapes so I would love it, maybe add a couple pieces if you want more. I would add coral in its place haha.

I would try to mount the lights higher to get rid of the bit of spotlighting.. I have LEDs as well and have the same spotlight effect, mines a bit worse. It drives me nuts though.

okay, honest mode activated.
rocks are way too low, looks great for fowlr system but i dont think it will work with coral in the long run.

maybe 2 island instead of 3?

no comment on those mag rock...

2 mp40??? dont think thats enough for a 180

Kworker- I really can't go any higher because on my canopy, but I do agree that spot light effect sucks.

Viplok. I actually had it higher, but my blue throats decided that they didn't like it and knocked it down. You don't like the Mag rock, I'm actually thinking going straight across simulating a drop off. Jury still out that thou.

Thanks guys. plz keep the opinions coming.

So far , so good , but what u intend to grow ?! or to DO ?! if u want more SPS , i will increase to more flow + add some T5 next to u LEDs , if not really more ,SPS (colony's) u just fine, i like less Live Rocks, if u use any source of Carbon , for Bacteria , like Biopeletts ,Vodka,Vinegar etc. u don't need more Rocks , in my opinion.

I agree with Tony and STHILL if you are happy with it that is what matters most. You have a nice clean setup working. You have it setup where you will be able to adjust and make changes as you need with you aqua scape which is important in the long run. keep the pics coming, one of these days i will get a pic or two up of mine....wish I would have done it before the hair algae showed up!
