My damsel is picking at my hammer coral and its starting to shrivel up.. Also starting to pick at my acans. I need this guy gone. Have tried different things and I just cannot catch him. Tried putting food in a net and hes the only one who wont swim into the net. Tried cutting a slit in a water bottle putting food in there and he just pecks at the bottle. Will not go near fish traps either. The guy is a smart little sucker but I can't have him start killing my corals. Need him gone ASAP. Anyone have any ideas on what to do? Would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

havent had to do this with my SW but when i had cichlids, i would wait for 2 hours after lights out. use a red flashlight, as they can see it, use a net and very slowly snatch em up. worth a shot... or you can just tear down the tank lol

Lol. I got a 57g tank with over 60lbs of rock and also got a lot of corals so tearing down the tank is defineately not going to happen. I have tried different things and he just knows I am after him. Lucky I got the other two out that I had but this guy just eludes everything...

The soda can trick? Whats that?

Nice!! I used the same soda bottle trap on a bully angelfish. Very satisfying after catching it within minutes of placing the trap. I had to starve the fish first for a couple of days though.

Yeah I fed them last night and figured I would give it a shot this afternoon.. He was tempted and went right in after the pellets. Glad hes out, now hopefully my hammer comes back after having him been pecking at it.
