Struggling with it for a while and came to the conclusion it's my lights but my MH bulbs aren't that old but will do a replacement to see if it helps.

Yes it does but your supposed to let it run without the skimmer on, then after treatment do a water change. Your skimmer will settle in after a couple of days.

In my opinion it works everytime and safe on fish/corals/lr.

Do you leave fuge light going?

Do you have a powerful skimmer. If you do try shutting off your skimmer for 6 hours during the day. Could be your skimmer removing the good bacteria which be causing cyano. Adding any bacteria in bottle during when the skimmer is off will help. In about a week or two you will see improvement.
