Hi Guys,

I bought a 6 stage R.O unit 110g/d and there is only waste water coming out of the unit, no R.O water.

I've turned the faucet to the max. It's still the same

Can anyone help?

Thanks

make sure the waste water valve closed ,it will take a few mins for water to run thru the unit ,It is also important that you have the right amount ofwater pressure to work the RO unit ,other wise you will get drips insted of a stream of water ,,if your pressure is low ,then you may need to buy a booster pump

Ronen

if you can take apic ,that will help us help you

Is there any RO water at all? Did you connect all the hoses correctly?None of the chambers filled with water? Are there any valves you need to open? Did you put the flow restrictor in the waste line?

I dont have a water pressure meter and my water pressure looks fine. The water pour out of the faucet strongly.

what restrict on waste waterline u guys talking about? I just leave the waste water line in the sink.

Now I see some R.O water coming out, but it is very slow. It would take forever to get 1 gallon R.O water I think

The manual stated the unit would produce 2-3 gallons per hour. Is this sound right?

just because you can see some pressure coming out of the faucet does mean its enuff .you can have 40lbs of pressure coming out of the faucet and that would look like alot to you ,but not for the RO unit to work Properly

Without my pressure pump i produce 5 gals of water every 5 to 6 hrs ,with the pump on bringing the presurre to about 80lbs it get 20gals in 6th or less

The water pressure may seem fine coming out of the faucet, but still might be only 20-30 psi. I think most units say 60 psi is needed for good performance. What floor do you live on? Are you in an older building?

It might be a good idea to check the hose connections, too, to make sure there's not anything blocking the flow.

Umm.. I dont think I can do anything about the water pressure. I rent the place. I live on the second floor of an old house.

So it would take a long time to fill my 20g tank

How did u guys do this with 100+g tanks? It would take couple weeks to fill big size tank.

Maybe the water pressure is low here..
It takes about 1 hour to produce one gallon or R.O water and three gallons of waste water..
Now I'm thinking about other option of acquire high quality water.
what about bottle spring water in the grocery store?
Can I use these bottle drinking water? It's much quicker to fill my tank. I am planning to do 25% w/c weekly for a 20g tank. So it's 5 gallons of spring water. That's $5, isn't too bad.
What do u guys think?

32bit - you are ok. it's gonna take a while. the only thing you can do is get the booster pump ronen talked about

It's too slow and I also occupying the kitchen facuet all day. Family member is complainting about it too. I dont want to create so much trouble and disagree over my hobby.

I rather pay alittle more if u know what I mean..

So what brand of distilled water should I get? Does it says Distilled water on the bottle? I've only seen spring water or polar bear on those drinking water in the super market.

go to the nearest HD supply ,ask them for a speddy supply tee for a ice maker ,,it a tee that will attach to the cold water valve under the sink,it will let you conect the ro and the faucet together . .get yourself a 1/4" plastic valve.so you can shut off the water to the ro unit ,,the tee looks like this ,the red line gos to my ro unit

I wont be able to do any plumbing cuz I rent the place. Landlord comes back checking things out very often.. It's sad man..

so as long as the water has 0 PPM TDS reading would be fine for reef right?

what restrict on waste waterline u guys talking about? I just leave the waste water line in the sink.

There needs to be a restrictor on the waist line. If you take out the waste tubing from the unit and theres nothing in the tubing to restrict the flow all of your water will go down the drain insted of pushing it through the membrain.
