I say boil him in oil!!! I had two mexican turbos, one was tossed in my toilet the other in my back yard. I hate them, they are evil. They mess up aquascapes and I suspect that they eat babies.

Another possibility- I have found that a cause of what appears to be sudden death in what appear to be otherwise healthy clams is algae growing under the mantle. Its not visible when the clam is alive and "well", but appears when it dies. Before the clam dies, it retracts its mantle, exposing the algae on the shell. What may have happened in your case is that as the clam began to retract its mantle, and was still alive, the turbo happened by and began to feed on the newly exposed algae on the inner shell...this would certainly place it on top of the opened shell....just a possible scenario....Take care, Eric

A Parable!!

most animals are opportunistic feeders. If there is free food avilable with little effort than it's what's for dinner. However, I doubt your snail was eating the clam, he was just cleaning up (as everyone else already said) the remains. Although the snail is a minority and so must be guilty of eating the clam and may be linked to other heinous crimes against bivalves, lets try not to profile here.

So you think this is a parable about minorities and rush to judgement? Very clever thought!!

No algae on shell. Very healthy and happy just prior to the shifty eyed Mex. Turbo vacuum suction massage.

Doc I wouldn't put it in the HOB fuge if you have not covered the discharge pipe from the inside and the outside discharges. The snail will get in there and plug it up and cause the fuge to overflow. TRUST ME!

Confused Again!

i'd personally prefer death over life in prison with no chance of parol. Just as our legal system intended, the inmate's mental capacity will slowly deteriorate to that of a snail.

You mention this was a snail from south of the border. Was he legal? Perhaps he has no rite being in the tank to begin with and should be sent back to the southern hemisphere forthwith.

Also couldnt help notice a certain Henry Fonda - 12 Angry Men sort of thing unfolding there. But frankly, this drama would never get this far in Texas; they'd have baked his carcas in butter and garlic immediately only to discover DNA evidence later exonerating him of any impropriety.

This arguement was used at Mex Turbo's trial. But as he was caught in the act TWICE, it was decided that he/she has a psychopathic defect somewhere in its notocord (or taste buds) and it will keep defying all books that argue otherwise.

If wrong IDing is involved, you should dismiss the Mex Turb Trial due to defective summons. But nevertheless the defendant seems to haved caused chaos in your tank and before your prepared for another trial, I always have a rock tank for the rejects in case you don't even want to see him in your sump.
