Nick, I use the CS 180 which is rated for 180 gallons total water volume (I have 240 total gallons). I did the pump mod and it's great. And this was before I did the dialyseas.
Don't get the new ones with the aqua bees. Sedras work better with the modification. Dollar for dollar and watt for watt, I think they are a great deal. I'm wondering if ASM's will work the same with the mod?
Gate valve mod is key.
Serious? Are they loud? I'd like to see one. Go buy one.
AAAAHHHHH Wes!!!!! I told you! Some hobbyists experimenting with stuff in their back yard and now look what has come about. The guy who came up with that thread on RC has redeemed himself for being a member of the Air Force.
I gotta finish my skimmer
i have a cs52 on my 30 cube.... i have to put a gate mod on it, ive had it for about 5 months and i cant seem to find the right spot.... but how can anybody with that stupid riser pipe???
for me personally I found the Euros to be a huge savings for routine cleaning, but an even greater pain when it came to adjusting and maintaining the pumps, not to mention the occasional overflow of the collection cup. They work great and on a small tank with a single pump unit I would give them a shot, but the larger units with multiple pumps I did not care for.
If these are wire brush mod genx pumps the ER will have about 3x the amount of air being pushed into the cylinder. Should kick the crap out of the current and older model ER and CS series
I have a cs6-2 on my 110 w/ a pump upgrade-sedra 5000 It kicks ass. I set my riser pipe and don`t have to move it.Produces dark smelly crap like you would not believe.....
CS 6-2 w/ the gate valve mod & Sedra 5000 pump, on a volume of about 100 gallons.
Works pretty good. I know it isn't the best skimmer around....but it pulls a decent amount of crap.
