I have the RK2 and i love it...It gets better every firmware upgrade. I have never felt lacking in the controller department...

That being said i have never used the AC Jr so i can't comment on it. I am sure it is nice as well, there are alot of positive reviews on it..

I don't think you would be disappointed w/ either choice.

I have a ReefKeeper 2 as well and I love it. I've never owned another controler so I dont't have a refrence to compare but I will say that it looks sharp with the blue lit screen. It is also super easy to use and set up. I haven't goten around to downloading the updates just yet but it does seem like there are more and more options with each release. I wrote the product review if you wanna check it out.

You're probably more confused now then before! Whatever choice you make it will be a good one. Seems to be split pretty much down the middle. At least you choose 2 excellent products which recieved rave reviews!

I went with the RK2 over the AC products primarily because of cost and because there is little that I actually need to do aside from turning lights and pumps on and a safety net in case the heater malfunctions. I have it 1 week and I like it. It is a good product I have yet to update the firmware though.

chief, may i ask where and how much did you pay for the rk2? cuz everywhere i look, the rk2 is more expensive when you compare the same package components. maybe i'm not looking in the right place.

I'll pm you the price but I add here how I came to my conclusion. First and foremost I couldnot find a site that stated what equipment the AC came with, every site made it seem you paid for the head then had to buy either the DC8, DC4, or X10 Modules in addition to the cost of the AC, but the RK2 came with the DC8 and the temp probe and for an additional cost obviously the ph probe. that's how I came to my decision. I don't know if I am right but like I said that is how it seemed.

I have been following many of the threads on the RK2 at RCentral. Some people seem to have problems with the temperature function on the RK2.

This guys tank overheated after a blackout caused all his sockets to stay active.

This guys tank froze.

In all fairness, I have not been following ACjr threads so I dont know if they have similar problems.

I was going to purchase the RK2 but I have decided to hold off for now.
