If you put that...thing....in the above tank fuge, how high up would that be? I mean, do you want that jumping on your head when you least expect it? :eek: :eek:

I dont think so ,,I got it ona trip that i went with my brother and nieces ,in LI ,this was on a boat off of NY coast :groupflip

BTW i didnt ake it with me ,I cant afford its diet :p that thng would eat my out of house and hold :Yikes:

They are not reef safe (if you ere serious Josh :)).

The above tank fuge is about 7'+ feet off the ground but he can not get out. I am more scared of my scorpions getting out than the spider crab :wink1:

I used to have one about 20 years ago. In fact, I have had several types. They are awesome but most species only live a year to a year and a half naturally. By the time we get them, your lucky to get six months or so. The longest I have had one was for 8 months. Really cool but high maintenence.

I did have something similar happen. I had a softball size batch and all I have left is about a golfball size. It just disintegrated. I noticed it had a greyish color to it and when I touched it it felt like mush and then one night it was gone except for a small amount that was still healthy. And it has not grown much since. I used to trim it every few weeks.
