Close all stores after the death of the owner? That's pretty crazy for a company of that size, unless they were losing money for a while.

at one time they had over a 1000 stores its another dead piece of our dying hobby its a shame

I worked at the Nassau St. store back in 1979 and we use to get our pay in an envelope with deductions handwritten on the back.
Years later I've come to realize that they did not pay SS taxes that they stole from our pay because no wages were listed on the SS website for the year or two years I worked there.
Good company...................
