Maybe I can clear things up a little.

Pinched Mantle is something that has been going around for many years and no one really know what causes it and fresh water dip seems to work in some cases but not all.

About 18 months ago ClamsDirect hired a Marine Lab to test some infected/diseased clams and was told that it was a form of protozoan. As some of us know that there is about 5,000 different protozoan so to try to find out what will cure or what we/you can treat this is still up in the air. DNA testing can get expensive. We have spend a lot of money and shipping of healthy and also PM clams to these labs for testing.

Did a speaking engagement in Maine at the University and after the presentation, some of the doctors expressed interest in helping us with this case study. They are not going to charge ClamsDirect for their time but the hard cost such as blood work-up and slides must be paid. All that they want in turn is to be able to publish in the Marine scientific journals.

Once the results are forwarded to us we will have it published in some Marine Magazine or some other form of paper so that all can read.

If you have any question, please feel free to contact me directly.

Any amount donated for this on going research will help but the more the better. :)
