I've had good success using a large-bore i.v. needle and injecting kalk right into the base of them. That is, of course, if you don't want to save them. It's important to use the large bore needle, not an insulin syringe from the local drugstore. Even well-mixed kalk has enough little fragments to clog tiny needles. My mom is a cardiac nurse, so I got a couple from her to keep around just in case. I'm not sure where to find them, but you can get larger needles at drugstores, if you ask----just let them know you're not a junkie. lol
