I really want to start my second year in the hobby right. I currently have 3 tanks going and am looking for the BEST maintenance software available. I've done some looking at various sites, and can't find any ratings. Tons of links, but no user comments about the software. Anyone have suggestion on what to get and from where?

CJ - what exactly are you looking for when you say maintenance software??

Not sure if this is what you mean,but...I found a program called "Aquarium Manager" on the web. It's a nice program where you can enter your testing results, (calc, alk, nitrate, etc) along with othere things. It has features to graph your results and let you know when you are out of recommended parameter ranges.

Not to knock the program, it is good, but it is basically just a spreadsheet. I thought it would be neat to use, but each time I perform any tests, add any creatures, do a water change, etc. I write the results in a notebook. I guess I've been doing this long enough to know when I have a problem without having to look at charts, graphs etc.

I guess some people are low-tech, some are high-tech!!!

Thanks for the reply John. I'm starting to think everyone is using a notebook!

I was using a Reefcon software for awhile, but had some problems with it. I was using it to track test results as well as additions/deletions to/from the tanks. Also as a reminder for media changes and such. Anyone else?

I used to use a notebook, but every test is in line where it should be, so i stopped writing down the same numbers over and over. I still writ things down when i add or subtract livestock/rock. Like JohnG replied, soum=nds like you are looking for a simple spread sheet program.

I have been writing a small program to log parameters in my tank. Your welcome to try it out if you want. Send me some email. It's not quite complete, so I am looking for suggestions.
