It is very hard for the moderators to police "bad deals", even when they are obvious to many members of this site. We try pretty hard to be fair to everyone and that means allowing people to charge ridiculous prices if people are willing to pay.

At the same time, the most central concept that this site adheres to is to educate the new reefers and help them run cost effective, efficient, and most importantly healthy tanks.

Everyone in this hobby has bought something they shouldn't have at least once, I don't know if there is ever going to be a way to stop that from happening. :(

I have asteroid insurance for sale

here is my personal "no if and or buts" no nonsense guarantee!! If an asteroid hits the earth and wipes out everything I will give you a million dollars. This insurance can be yours for only 100 dollars.

The guy that devised this actually sold quite a number of policies in this sophisticated and educated world.

I personally disagree to people posting on a selling thread basically turning it to shits. I do however not mind if PM is sent to the "dibs" people and to the seller himself.

I think that we all preach RESEARCH RESEARCH RESEARCH and that goes for equipment also. A simple trip to marinedepot will cost you 5 seconds and you an find out what the new price of a certain product is.

We are a free market after all. What dictates the price? Whatever people are willing to pay for it. A good example is this water melon challice on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/Live-Coral-Rare...ryZ46308QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Kinda reminds me of the acan craze just last year. Even though I was not the one to delete the post, I would have done the same. It is not in our best interest to speculate where he or she got the item from. Who cares. It is however in our best interest to educate each other. There are mny ways to do this without flaming each others threads

I think what this dude is doing is just wrong, no ifs ands or buts about it. when it's that obvious i don't agree with our rules. i would expect someone to flame me if i was trying to scam someone out of money. just my opinion,

if this thread serves for no other purpose, it has served for me to vent.....
ahhhhhhhhh

but knowing me, that aint much help, lol

For some, growing 5 polyps of doodoo shrooms is a huge deal. I remember way back in the day when I got my first palys I was stoked beyond all hell. They were my pride and joy. Maybe that is the case with him. We dont know that. If someone does buy the stuff for even close to that price let me know. Ill stop throwing stuff away.

As a comparisson lets talk about women for a sec. To women that are used to it any diamond short of flawless will just not do and they would consider it garbage whereas to others a tiny flawed itty bitty stone will do. This hobby is no different.

Looking at the pictures the dude obviously is not capable of keeping sps (algae outbreak = high Phosphates etc) Its likely these doodoo polyps are worth a lot to the dude.

Don't forget, xenia sells for $100 per head at most LFSs, yet I know at least 10 people that are using it as a form of nutrient export by flushing it down the toilet.

one mans garbage...if I knew where to sell xenia for $100's I would have a remote 180 filled with it :D
