I have a 4 month old 46 bowfront with only a royal gramma. He looks kind of lonely so I'm going to buy him a(some) tank mate(s) today. I will definitely be getting a True Percula but I'm considering a pair.
LFS is getting a shipment today. My LFS says they do not receive mated pairs, but they are young enough to become mated if I buy two. With my relatively small tank i would like to have as many different fish as possible, knowing that i cannot have a large bioload. This is the why i am reluctant to buy the pair.
I would be interested on behavioral differences between a mated pair and a single percula. Are the mated pair that much happier and/or interesting to watch than a single percula which will allow me to add another different type fish???
