I did every other one and put the leaf gutter guard to prevent snails, crabs from entering. I will give it another try as soon as the silicone dries. I also have a question. What is the ideal way for the cap to the durso to be drilled? If the hole is to small salt creep may clog it which I do not want to happen for now I have it totally off. Since I put these guards for the snails I plan on putting them on the top of my overflow to prevent them as well. Any ideas? Thanks
I did it. Thanks to everyone for the help/advice. I also drilled a hole into the cap of the durso and it works fine. I need to set up the skimmer but thats the least of my worries. As you can see in the photos the drain flow is forceful and the pump water line is high and not moving. I was thinking of adding a netting to the top of the durso to prevent snails, etc. I did a 50% water change while I was at it lol. I have loc line coming soon so I can branch out the flow to other areas of the tank but I am very happy with how this came out.
Well it is all up and running, I completed the protein skimmer and waiting for the tank to cycle. I notice alot of microbubbles entering my tank. I am sure it will clear out.
