Has any one been to aquarium adventure in Carle Plane (long island), well if you have not gone don?t bother. Don?t get me wrong the displays are beautiful but can you say overpriced, I mean I know that you have to charge a little more because it a store front and they have bills to pay but the prices are crazy. Take this for example the #4 hydro koralia that you can buy online for $49 to $59 dollars they sell it for $110.00 I think that?s a little nuts. Well at leas that is my opinion, you guys might think differently.

that's quite normal. retailers especially ones with a well known name marks up double than what online retailers cost. sometimes even more. it makes no sense to pay that price unless you have to have it right away.

The problem is, that I find their price on livestock to be twice the price of other relatively local LFS. It happens to be a store that is very convenient for me to go to as i am ofter in the area, but one that I usually skip.

I used to work at adventure and I have never felt the need to openly say anything about them because everyone else does it so well lol. But, if you are in that area there are a bunch of stores around within 10-15 minutes that are pretty good. Mutts and Butts is on Merrick rd. not too far down the meadowbrook (exit M9e I think) big blue building on the right side across from the dairy barn. Nice guys and livestock is more than reasonably priced.

I'm offering an alternative and it happens to be relevant to the thread. What's the difference when people talk about a good store they have been to, is that any different? Also, I don't work for Mutts.

The cheapest place for equipment and dry goods I've found on Long Island is at Aqua-Hut. Their prices are about the same as on the internet, and they will order anything you ask for. And no, I don't work for them, just buy from them. :lol:
Aquarium Adventure is such a joke!!! That store is an absolute total disgrace to anyone in the hobby. I hate their excuse that people that live in the area can afford the prices cause that is outright BS!! I just wish they would go out of business and stop ripping poor unknowing people off. Please dont shop at this store if you have any self respect, there are like 5 stores within a 15 minute drive that provide better service better prices and dont bend you over and anally rape you at the register then smile.
