Well its sun afternoon and I beautiful day, but were an I in the basement, hehehehe.
Well I put about 240 Lbs of the 280 I had in the tank. I have about 3 " of water to go and another 70 for the sump and 70 for the refugium.
I have both closed loops on 100% going to all fo returns(no using the motorized valve yet, have it half way)
here are the first pics. For some reason I will have to work on the color, The 14K are a nice in between of white and blue, I like it alot, its not as purple as the pics.
The water is a little clody.
I found while transfering the rock
1 red star 5"
1 brisle Star 5 "
over 40--1cm baby stars
over 50 hermits
over 30 snails
etc...
I have to go shut down 2 of the 400w'ers now dont want to burn the life up. The rock/life went from pcs to a 175w light over a 100g tub to 1600w of light, HELLO
WOW man, your tank is impressive.
I like the lighting set up (the moving parts) which makes very easy to work into the tank.
Congrats.
IMHO too much sand, I would go with 4"-5" max, but it looks awesome.
I put 550 Lbs of sand in, Its about 5 " on the side and 4" in the middle, It must look like more in the pic. According to the sand calc 550 Lbs should be 4 1/2" base .
What an exciting time! I'm still a few weeks away from filling my 120 and I can barely stand it. I find myself browsing for live rock about an hour a day even though I already know exactly what I want and when I can get it. Congratulations on a long planning period finally coming to fruition!
The temps So far are 79-80 no matter when I check it. I hope it stays that way. Its nice having the medusa control the heat. Im hoping not to have to use a chiller. The exhaust fan is working well, Once I get the air exchanger up and running, it will be even less humid in there.
Now that is with only 2 of the 4 MH's on. The other 2 are just not needed yet
What pad are you using under the magnet to protect the acrylic? I bought a Tunze magnet for my 1" acrylic and it came with this very cheezy little pad, hardly worth the $1.69 extra.
Stve.
Coming along really well looks like. Interesting to know where the tank is situated in the "viewing room". Will the tank be walled in? etc. Pics man, more pics!
