Growth rate of Chaetomorpha ???

I got my new aquafuge up and running, I ordered some chaetomorpha from ebay and have had it in the refuge for about a week. Yesterday when I got home from work I looked in the fuge and the 4 small clumps of macro that I had turned into 6 clumps.

At this rate the macro will outgrow my fuge in less than a month. Is this there normal growth rate? I'm not complaining by no means but this took me by suprise.

Looks like ill be giving some free macro to reef.orgers soon

I just bought some not too long ago on ebay, too. It doubled in size after just one week, and that's just under a 9W actinic bulb. I guess that's why you see so much of it for sale on ebay.

yep, chaeto grows fast. it probably doubles every 2-3wks for me.

To top it off, a few days after I recieved the goods I paid for on ebay, technoshaman sent me a care package that was far superior and was free. Thanks technoshaman doode!!!

Nope, just 4 baseball sized clumps. I paid so much because I was suppose to get an order of critters to go. He had 100% feedback and most of his feedback reflected the quality of critters that hitchhiked with the macro.

Unfortunately all the critters were DOA and he would not reply to any of my emails even though he writes in all of his auction, and I quote " The transaction doesnt end with the sale, please fell free to contact me anytime about your order" Riiiiiiiiiiigggghhhhhhttttt, ^&%!#^&*$@.

Yeah, techno is the man, came through in the clutch for me.

That's a decent amount. Too bad about the critters. It would have been too cold for them if it they went coast to coast. I smell negative feedback.

Hope most of the stuff I sent you lived puff. There were some pods in the chaetomorpha and such. regardless there are about 6 or 7 small algaes in addition to the chaetomorpha so hopefully at least one will take hold.
