When small, they are coal black with the white spot and look great in a tank with several. But they tend to fade a bit as they get older. I still like the looks of them though. Must be the shape.

Hehe looks to be about the size of my 3 spot. One of the first fish I ever bought. Got him and a blue damsel when I first setup my 20 gal. Intended to use them to cycle the tank but never had the heart to get rid of 'em. So now 4 years later they're still living in the 20 gal along with a forest of xenia. Actually I have to say that damsels are far more interesting fish than most people give them credit for.

all of my fish are aggressive...well except for my tangy..hes a baby.
when they say aggressive they mean AGGRESSIVE- I used to run a salt only LFS, and we had a Clown Trigger that ate mice in the front display(8 inches or so) and I got an adult Blue Devil(which arent blue anymore) that would tear anything up that it got put with. I decided that he needed some lessons in manners- put him in with the trigger- guess which fish was cowering in the rocks by the next morning? The Trigger. I hate damsels.

Is that the only fish you want to have. I have had small damsils before that were just the meanest thing in the world.

it's a domino damsel.

Had three in a tank with a mantis.

Then I had two.

Then one.

Then the tank crashed, and everything died.

Damsels are evil. Green chromis are the only kind I'll even think about putting in a tank anymore.

He's just about there on both counts. Should fit perfectly into a nice little cast iron pan, fried in butter, with some garlic, s&p, lemon.. YUM! Now I'm hungry.. :|

I like the little buggers, like blue damsels too, if they are all I have that's ok, they are still plenty colorfull and they sleep down in the sps.

Never really got into big fish like tangs & angels.

You know we used to do that too, my wife kept a couple triggers and a big lion.

We kept the tank stocked with damsels, ususally 8-10 of them in the tank, the lion would hunt all day, was the coolest thing to watch.

He probably got 1 or 2 a month, I restocked when he was down to only a couple left.

Holy cow that's a big damsel! Wow! Wasn't really sure until I saw the powerhead reflected on the glass.

HAHA yea...i rememver when the lion got its first damsel...it was a trip to watch. id let him eat them more often, but it just doesnt look pleasant for him. its got to be annoying having a tail hanging out of your mouth.

i havnt fed him live food in so long. he just eats out of my hands. crazy fish
