I've been meaning to put together a test of the more popular GFOs to see how they all perform at removing phosphate but I haven't had time lately. Maybe this week sometime
I've used phosban before coralife blows it out the water in my 280 gal. system...
interesting that the instructions advise not to use in tanks that have a low level of Po4. I wonder what they consider a low level?
There is also UltraLife:
UltraLife is a highly active natural clay mineral that absorbs Nitrate and Phosphates. The pollutants will be bound onto the mineral and can be removed by the skimmer. It's large surface area allows for easy colonization with bacteria. It has a unique Ion-exchanger capacity.
Most people I know who use zeolite systems also run phosban reactors 24-7, myself included.
