My water gets too hot.

So, what's it gonna be? Fans or a chiller?

Did you get 250W SE or DE?

No fans that I know of will cure a 97 degree tank. HAHA. I'm thinkin about sellin it all and starting over when I can afford to cope with every aspect of the hobby.

I have 2x250 10k XM and 2x250 20k XM. All mogul bases on PFO Mag ballasts.

Yeah, fans will pull down maybe 8 degrees at best. Moguls run pretty hot.

It looks like they sit awfully close to the water. What's the clearance height? Maybe raising them plus a fan will solve the problem.

Yeah I think I am going to raise them a little...either that or order pendants of some type. Idealy I'd like a 6 foot tank so I could space them out a little more.

I'd love to get a chiller, but there is really no point for me. This tank isn't that "advanced." I'd love to sell it and get a new drilled tank and the works. Oh well..maybe one day.

Peej - let me know if you want to sell that light setup. I've got a chiller hooked up to mine and it's a 125 gal. if you elect to go buy a chiller then i strongly suggest Arctic Chiilers.
