Percula goes with Carpet, but carpet is hazardous for most reef tank inhabitants.

The tank should be at least half a year old with stable parameters for the last 3-4 months or so.

Carpet anemone is by far one of the stickiest anemone there are. Few that accidentally touched its tentacles could escape their destiny.

I remember an article in CNN about teenagers today and the effect text messaging has had on their vocabulary and spelling ;)

I live it every day, my friend. :? :? :(

It's a constant battle to get my 8th graders to use proper written English. Most nowdays don't even understand that "cuz" is not a real word. :sigh:

31x24x58=43152
43152/231=186 gallons

Odd size. Have you ever said what kind of corals you plan to keep? It is impossible to recommend lighting unless you know what it will be used for.
If you ultimately plan to keep anemones, you will probably need at least 250W MH to reach the bottom of that tank. But really, do a search and you will find LOTS of information.

most of your lighting issues will be resolved if you look at the coral with the highest lighting needs and make sure they are taken care of.

Different corals dont need a spotlight dedicated to them. As long as you most light dependant coral is well taken care of the other photosynthetic corals will be ok

Brandon,
You seem to like a lot of things... While many people enjoy having the garden reef with as many different types of corals and creatures as possible, I think you will find most experts and experienced hobbyists advocating that you choose one type such as soft or hard corals and inverts that move (like anemones) or corals that stay put (there are technical words for these, but they escape me). When you keep lots of different types of animals with all different types of requirements, you will likely not be able to meet the requirements of all of them. You will find lots of people with nice looking tanks with all kinds of different corals and what not, but you'll probably find that the best tanks stick to a certain region of the reef. You will not find a fox coral with SPS in the wild, so IMHO they don't belong together in a tank. YMMV.

i think that i should further my research in both types of coral and see which type i like the best.

Brandon,

Now does "further my research" mean you'll actually do a search or will you just rephrase it into another question on this thread? :lol:
