She's eating, apparently, which is a very positive indicator of the captive status of a pelagic shark.

Holy crap Chris! I'm so excited I haven't read the article yet, but I've been saying for years that if any facility can do this, it would be this facility, in this exact tank! 8) It's early days, but I hope this pans out. Off to read the rest of it...

What luck. They've been patrolling the coast in search of a "young of the year" Great White for some time. Hopefully, this will surpass the previous record of 21 days of a Great White surviving in captivity.

Not only is the Outer Bay big enough, but it seems they've also avoided the issue that aquariums contructed of concrete and steel rebar disrupt the shark's internal sonar system. Clearing the electric impulses would help make the shark comfortable and confident enought to continually move around the system.

Seriously though, couldn't one (or more) slip over the small wall and wind up in a bad spot anyway? (They do only have a small rock wall separating it from the bay right?)
