Powerhead will warm the water a bit, but there is no real advantage of running it on RO/DI water.

You do have a problem, but again, get the tank moved before spending time troubleshooting the hardware.

I had a very similar problem, what temperature is the water going into the unit? To get the featured output they recommend the water temp be around 70. I was 50, so trickle trickle..... The guys at Kent Marine gave me a great idea and it works well. I purchased an extra 60 feet of ro/di tubing and placed in between the tap and the unit, then put the tubing in a kitchen size garbage can filled with water, popped in a 300 watt heater and within an hour I was moving right along.

Call the manufacture. They MIGHT? help you trouble shoot it or tell that it is normal. The worst being they blow you off, but worht the shot.

Man I dont know wha the problem is now. There is about 8 inches of water in the tank and it is very dirty. There is a lot of suspended stuff floating in the water. There is no rock or sand in there. It is a bare tank. This water should be clean I think. Even if dust has landed in the tank I dont think it would be this dirty. Could it be that it is hooked up wrong and the waste water is being dumped into the tank? That would mean that the RO is putting out more good water than bad. Is that possible?

Thanks,
Shane

IT is possible but unlikely. Pull out all the documents for the RO and quadruple check them against what you are going. If you still can't figure what is going on call the Manufacture. Mostwill at least try and help you solve the problem

DOGMAI, get RO water from the store, and take that filter off until you moved. Call the seller right away, and let them know about the dirt issue (RO membrane got busted? That is very very rare...), and let them know.

Ok so I Let the water "drip" into a nice clean clear drinking glass. I heald it up to the light and the water was crystal clear. I am thinking that because I had the top off the tank for a couple days that dust and other airborn dirt flew into the tank. I live next to an alley so it is not impossible. I just cant stand looking in there and not seeing crystal clear water. I wish I could put a skimmer or something on there right now to clean that crap out of the water. As far as the move I still have about 30 days because the house will prolly go into escrow today or tomorrow.

The water coming out of the RO does seem to be moving a little faster but it is still just dripping. Its a fast drip but a drip none the less.

Thanks everybody,
Shane

Tap water will fill the tank a lot faster!:P

Yeah, put a pump in the septic tank will fill that up even fast than garden hose... beside, the sewage is going out to the ocean eventually, so this is like imitating the Nature as close as possible.... ;)

ROFL...You're not even nice!

Try to find a local reefer and see if he will fill a few 30gallon rubbermade tubs. This will get your tank filled real quick. I doubt the cold weather makes your RO slow down that much, especially in CA.
