[brag]I usually just show my tank to local reefers... they usually drool so much that I just pour the wet vacuum's content into the tank after I clean the carpet near where they stood[/brag]
Well RBCs are within the size range of some phytoplankton, which clams feed on. So it's feasible that the clams are actually capturing the cells and eating them. In addition, they contain a lot of iron which could benefit the zooxanthellae in the clam.
All just guesses though, I've never heard of this before.
Iron is about the only thing I could think of that they would get out of it, maybe some protiens from the hemoglobin. Nothing out of the plasma would do any good though.
I ususally use Podling essence, once i caught a Glefling, their essence is far superior, they just wriggle more when your extracting. I find the best way of nominating a Podling is 'trial by stone'.

Trial by Stone is used to ascertain who is worthy of being Chamberlain, or any other high office. Geese, Mouse, you should know this stuff. I must agree with Gelfling essence, though, it's far superior.
I wonder how hemoglobin would affect cyano outbreaks.
Not for my tanks, thank ya much. I prefer the old fashioned methods of feeding animals actual seafood. You know...xenia eats mysis, fish eat pods, eels eat fish, clams eat whales, etc.
