I was at a LFS last night and saw 2 Titans players there. They are both into SW tanks. Albert Haynesworth (DT) has a large FO predator tank and Ryan Long (DL) has a 90 reef. The guys at the store also said Chad Meir (TE) and Chris Brown (RB) also have reef tanks. Do you guys know any celebs with reeftanks?

My LFS back in Virginia set up tanks for Patricia Cromwell, apparently she is a writer or something.

Hmm. I am surprised any celebs would be into the hobby. Sure they have the money, but never thought they'd have the time or patience.

People with money need neither. They can hire people to take care of the tanks.

I remember reading a thread on RC where a tv personality had a very large reef tank. Maybe some can post that thread here.

Don't know anyone personally, although the ideas with celebs and money with reeftanks sort os scares me, as I saw on one of those MTV shows where they showed off all the possessions of famous people (Cribs maybe?) they showed one particular rapper who had a huge shark tank built into the back of his hummer, and that sort of thing just pisses me off.

Yeah, I read some books by her. She does forensic "medical examiner" mysteries. I liked them before they started to seem formulaic and founded in obsession with gore.

Yes, and they probably have very little clue as to the science/engineering of the tank, and just spend the money on the coolest thing they see.... there are a few exceptions, but I feel I am a bit prejudice on this than what I want...

Several of the athletes here have them. Some do the work themselves, but most pay for maintenance.

I can relate to that. It seems like half the people I got into the hobby with many years ago are all maintaining rich peoples tanks. I think there should be a test you have to take to display some sort of competency level with 3 parts. 1) Sustainability 2) Basic Husbandry of Desired Species 3) Waste Breakdown/Removal Theory. Must pass before they deliver your thousand gallon tank.

Not all football players are millionaires and I don't know about other people but it is relaxing cleaning a tank sometimes.
