i belive yes that a shrimp can cause enough stress to a clam to kill it, i think i have lost a few clams to those shrimp in the past. one maxima i had a while back the shrimp kept picking at it and the clam died in just a few days, after that i got all of my shrimp out of my tanks and my clams like it much better with out them. and yes that was PM you had there, and it is always best to QT all new additions to your tank.

Thank you clamcrazy! I will keep an eye on my shrimps, and qt all new comers.
I think the clam was recovery due to it being moved up closer to the light source & higher flow. In any case none of that matters anymore for that particular clam.
