As the numbers point out you have to do more than one trick to maintain a system. You have to remove the bad stuff and add the good stuff. The one trick of water changes will not do that.
uh, why doesn't waterchanges do "that"? the take out "bad" and add the "good".beaslbob":3753oz14 said:As the numbers point out you have to do more than one trick to maintain a system. You have to remove the bad stuff and add the good stuff. The one trick of water changes will not do that.

Excellent science. :roll:cjsrch":128jkde1 said:just to clear up i did 1 percent aday and when every i felt like it 50 percent ( 25 percent each day for 2 days) but this is hardly worth mentioning because of the fact that it was soooo occasional
1 percent aday can also replace trace elements. or atleast cut down the ammount your need to add

if your refering to the waterchange. how manypeople have a scedualed waterchange that they do eachtime on time
cjsrch":10zhqbt9 said:you all are thinking of filters as onething. not taking intoconsideration the rest of the tank. ecowheels and bio wheels are two different things. biowheels are a more efficiant form of wetdry then the bioballs. as well as they dont allowfor much microfauna growth ( this is what makes them nitratefactories )
yeahi relize fluidized bed filters can crash when they stop. but so can everything else. lr will die if water stops flowing.
