Hi. My name is Ben. I am a reef-a-holic.
I admit, I haven't been able to do anything for the last six weeks without thinking about when i could get my next salt fix. Whether it be on the internet, or finding out who has the best price on what products. I have twice missed a subway stop, ending up forty minutes away, because i was to involved in what John Tullock had to say about berlin method setups...
A few thoughts and then i will share my pictures. I have done, oh my, so much reading about the small life system i sustain here in my small section of new york city. there are many things i have learned with these readings. ranging from what actually produces chemicals, why certain critters are good for one another, and who is good with those others, why some are not so good with others, and so on...
Some things i have really taken to heart are; nothing happens quickly, only diaster, to much unneccassary involvement = unhappy animals, don't fix what ain't broke (actually learned through the application of another hobby, but we won't get into that), and in the archives yesterday i read about "number chasing". an excelent thought. something i have been doing for quite sometime now.
i still have some residual green algea here and there, but it seems to be undercontrol. tank levels are stable, and everyone seems to be happy and getting along.
overall, i think my reefkeeping skills have become fair to moderate, and much more to learn...
For my fellow reefers I offer a few pictures of Benjie-land...
--was very happy my brother give back my camara...
thanks-
