Flood master here...
Home owners, at leat my policy only covers flooding if it is caused by pips bursting or sewage back ups. Accedintal overfloows like this, sump pump mail functions tanks braking are not, UNLESS you are paying for it. And the only way you are paying for it is if you asked for it. For All State to cover a flood from a tank would cost me $44 a month. Not worth it IMO when the dehu and fans will do the trick. And the idea that dry wall is ruined when wet is wrong. If it satys wet for a couple days it is, but if dried out in about 24 hours there is no issue. I had 3" of water in the basement once and did the clean-up. 6 months later I tested it for mold and mildew. NO ISSUES!

Hell fragmaster.....I want to have a flood just so i can try to get the tank of ricordea. Can I use a real small dehumidifier and a couple six inch fans?
Seriously though... If we all had to pull our carpets every time we had a flood from our tanks. We'd have new carpet all the time.. Most of us would probably start adding it into the general hobby expense category.
And Rob top... You a very correct. sheetrock can take a bit of water without jeapordizing its integrity. most 2x4's are still wet from the log pond to an extent when houses are framed and are typically sandwiched between siding, insulation and sheetrock before being fully cured. Just think about all the houses in the north that get built in the winter :D
