So are you saying wholesaler in the U.S. that either have their own collecting staton or contracted collecting station over seas don't have to pay shipping to ship back to the states? Wow, the airline ship for free for them Really?

BTW, the currect going rate for airline cargo charged by the wholesaler oversea is about $5.45-$5.75US/kg not counting packaging and box charge, clearance, cites if required, ice/heat pack charge.

i understand the cost structure, my point was 30% isn't like 90%, i.e. catastrophic wipe-out. most or a significant amount of the cost (from what i've seen of pricing) is the shipping cost.

should they strive to lower the percentages constantly? sure, it makes good business sense, it adds directly to their margins.

but my original point is why would they falsify the difference? you yourself later on note a transshipper or distributor outright stated 20%~25%. it just didn't make sense to lie about a relatively small difference (again, relative imo) for no gain.

No, I am not saying they will lie about the difference, I just don't think they will be that forth coming on records, that'all.

I think both sides telling us dogmatically 'how it is' are just wrong.
I have seen both holding water shipped and different water shipped.
If everyone in the industry did everything the same way, it would be a much more controllable industry.

Righty is right, every company does things differently. Some wholesaler use the tank water, some use mix water, some well, use fresh sea water. I don't know why they don't all just use the tank water were the fish or coral was kept. Retail store use the tank water to bag the fish or corals. Online store I don't know, since they don't open to the public there is no way to tell.

Sorry, I wasn't aware there was a speculation, did I miss something?

No I don't have a shop, I do this part time on the weekend ONLY. I have a storage wharehouse, not a retail store like most LFS. I work full time like most people, it make no sence for me to have a retail shop when I can't be there every day.

Just to clearfy somethings so there is no more speculation.

All my drygoods vendor are only 5-10 minutes from my work so is easy for me to get what I need during lunch break.

Live stock vendor are all in around LAX, Len knows this. So I either go early Monday morning (where all the action is) or on the weekend when the shipment arrives.(where I get to pick all the good stuff first)
