I have 4 - 400's MH's and 3 - 75W VHO's over my 300G. I also have 2 - 175's over my fuge. This months power bill was $493.00. 8O Having a swimming pool and an outdoor pond doesn't help much either.
This is true. But if you start out with $15 orange caps or green picilipora your screwed from the begginng.
The purple monster will probably always demand a high dollars since is a slow grower. Same can be said for others. It's a risk, but I don't care if I get $100 per frag for a pink lemonade. But it would be nice, but as long as I can sell it for enough to make the shipping effort worthwhile, I'll be happy. I can't imagine a coral like that becoming so common place that I end up throwing frags out in the yard.

And I totally can understand about the cost of a tank, maybe not as much as some of you who require chillers and have multiple 400w MH bulbs over your tank, but I see the electric bill every month

Problem with coral keeping/selling is that it's almost a pyramid scheme, by the time you get a bunch of your stuff grown out it's become a lot more common of a piece and as such has less of a value
