Sun coral tubastrea sp question

My sun coral is really getting large and I am tired of target feeding new heads in addition to the old heads. Is there some way to frag these things without killing them? I have never heard of anyone doing this. HELP ME PLEASE!

LOL Cubosco, most people would love to have that problem!

I have never personally done this, but I know an LFS by me will take a dremel to the skeleton and bust it apart, with mixed results-somtimes it works, other time the parent colony dies. Sort of like how you can frag caulestra sp. by cutting the branches apart.

thanks I just had it done :lol: You could slow down on the feedings which should slow growth down.

That's odd. Never seems to change. The hair I mean. I bet you always stay out of the wind. I only feed it 3x aweek. Nice piece of shrimp for each head. Wonder if, and I think I'll try, to cut out the buds after feeding them. I just hope I don't hurt the little guy.
