My sun coral is really getting large and I am tired of target feeding new heads in addition to the old heads. Is there some way to frag these things without killing them? I have never heard of anyone doing this. HELP ME PLEASE!

LOL Cubosco, most people would love to have that problem!

I have never personally done this, but I know an LFS by me will take a dremel to the skeleton and bust it apart, with mixed results-somtimes it works, other time the parent colony dies. Sort of like how you can frag caulestra sp. by cutting the branches apart.

Hey, thanks for taking the time to answer Lawdawg. Seems no one really knows or frags these things out. I think I'm going to start rubbing the new buds off to control it. Love your hair!

 thanks I just had it done  You could slow down on the feedings which should slow growth down.

That's odd. Never seems to change. The hair I mean. I bet you always stay out of the wind. I only feed it 3x aweek. Nice piece of shrimp for each head. Wonder if, and I think I'll try, to cut out the buds after feeding them. I just hope I don't hurt the little guy.
