I wish the returns were bigger. I've been having a heck of a time dialing in my sump/fuge and external skimmer sump. My PanWorld can pump some serious water back into the main tank. Unfortunately, the restriction is the overflows.

The nice part is the controller I'm running will shut the sytem down if I get too much water in the main tank (before it overflows).

However, I'm figuring I'll need a bunch of supplemental circulation in the main tank to keep things moving.

Anyone mess with the MaxiJet 1200 mods yet?? They look like a nice and cheap way to get extra current. Right now, I'm running three "unmodded" Maxi1200s on a RedSea wavemaker and they might as well be turned off. In 210 gallons, they don't really do too much.

P.S. The 12" EuroReef is just simply the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen. The reaction chamber in this thing is huge and looks like milk. I don't know how big the reaction chamber is, but I swear it must be around 4 to 5 gallons. Shredded bubbles everywhere inside the chamber.....crystal clear outside....I can't say enough. I'm half tempted to dump things into the tank just to see how fast the skimmer can pull them out.

OK.....here's my newest "hurdle"

I've been bragging about my Oceanus Systems auto-topoff device sine I put it in.....In fact, it saved me just last night (I was changing some stuff around, turned off one of my sump lines, cranked everything back up and realized I forgot to open the return line to my sump). How did I realize this???? My Oceanus Systems device started squaking and shut the entire system down before overflowing.

I love this thing.....which is why I didn't mind buying the MOST EXPENSIVE one they had.

However, here's my "beef".....now that I've pumped some mega-coin into this device, they're coming out with a "new and improved" series. I don't mind this...in fact, I think it's wicked-cool they're looking to improve on their devices.

However, I'm being told -- If I want the "new and improved" series, I need to purchase it (a whole new unit). No credits for the "old" version (even though I got the thing less than 6 months ago). What's up with that???

I've sent a few e-mails with little success....

This thing is pretty awesome. And....again, I don't work for these folks (if I did, I'm sure I wouldn't be putting up this post). However, I'm hoping this post will do a couple of things...keep folks from buying something that will be obsolete in a few months....or convince an "up-and-coming" business to stand behind the folks who have already pumped several hundreds of dollars into their products.

I'll keep everyone posted.....but for those of you thinking of buying one of these......keep your pants on....wait for the "latest and greatest"....their website is already hinting around to another version and welcoming suggestions.

However, I'm hoping they'll do the right thing.

Thanks,
Eboman (a dude who hasn't spilled a drop of water because of this cool little contraption....but is REALLY bummed out that he's not being offered the "better" version -- I don't need two of these things)
