Someone started a thread the other day that got me thinking about my old reef tank. For the first time in a year, I actually started missing it. For the last few days I have been looking around my house thinking of places where a tank could go. I have no space or desire to start anything huge again, so a nano of some type is what I am thinking.
This mini system caught my eye: 14 gallon It can come with a protein skimmer and a UV filter. It also has an optional 70W MH fixture that is available that looks quite nice.
I need to look around to see if I can find a spot for the 28G version. I have a perfect spot for the 14G version.
This time I am not going to do an SPS tank. I am think LPS and acans and such. My LFS still has some of the "war coral", so that is a definite.
I would like to find one of those baby elegance corals too. If it were small enough, i could keep it for few years.
The only fish that would go in this tank would obviously only be one or two small goby type fish. A shrimp would be nice.
Welp, it sounds like I have myself completely talked into it.
Is the ecosystem a good nano, or is something better out there? I saw one of these setup at my LFS and it looked pretty sweet.
Any other tips that I should know before jumping it?
Can I have a small school of mandarin's or a vlamingi tang?
