Since my fish were all wiped out, I figured I'd just have coral for a bit and let the pod population grow and such.

But then I was thinking.

If I added a male/female molly to my reef, do you guys think the coral would eat the fry? Would it be healthy?

Wow.. I don't know, but I did used to use molly fry to vary my seahorses' diet. Hm.. You could even do something with monos, datanoids or scats (though I think they're more of an estuarine/mangrove type of fish).

I honestly don't see why not, for short term.

Only LPS can catch the baby, and even that, the molly tends to stay on the top, pretty safe from the coral predation.

Did it years ago in order to feed seahorses (way before frozen foods) and it worked well, but I don't think it would benefit coral all that much. The fry tended to hide until they were big enough to maneuver, which means they wouldn't get blown into the LPS by the currents.
