The usual mix is half "daylights" (6K to 14K) and half actinics. There hasn't been any tests done on T5/fluorescent bulbs like Sanjay does for halides, so there's no real way to say what does what ;) But every light combination will give you a different look and work better or worse depending on what you plan on keeping.

FWIW, I've used URI T5s and VHOs and they're my preferred brand.

FWIW my favorite T5 bulb is the ATI blue Plus, mixed with some ATI aquablue special which are basically daylights gives a nice look.

For a 6 bulb I would do 4 ATI blue plus, and 2 aquablue specials.

Good call on the T5's. I just never seem to have luck with MHs when it comes to keeping corals with MHs, but my nano with T5s are doing great with Z&P's. I think with all future tanks, I'm going with T5's. I currently have 4 bulbs, 2-ATI Blue+ and 2-Aquablues. With 6, I would think about maybe getting a Fiji Purple along with some combination of the Blue+ and Aquablues.
