Last week finished drilling a 120G. Now what I am doing is adding this tank side by side to another 120G, so basically it looks like a 8 foot tank with a divider. I have 2 ?'s First one; Should I paint the sides that both tanks meet because a fish might think he can get to the other side? and second; I am tying this tank into the existing system. This is a FOWLR tank, by me doing this it should not affect the Bio load of the tank, it is just adding extra water, am I right on this???

THe existing 120G tank has 120LBS of Figi LR, some mushrooms, a few corals, mixture of tangs, wrasses, angels, etc , Amiracle Maxi reef 400 Wet/Dry filter, phosban reactor and a MTC HSA-1000 Skimmer.

If anyone has done this before and can help me with a little advice I would greatly appreciated. Thanks...

tank

the fish shouldnt be able to see into the other tank because of reflection, and if you are using the same sump for both tank's it will increase the bio-load twice as much will be dumped into the sump or filtered through it, thought of doing this with 2 nano's, just make sure you have even drain to equal the return and that the sump will hold x amount of water in case of a power failure
