Some species are more in demand than others and when the collectors are told to collect more of a certain item it doesn't take long before they figure out they can make a few extra bucks on them. That increase is passed on to the wholesalers who then pass it on directly to retailers/ jobbers. So the reason the RBTA is so expensive is because of "us". The same reason why all the montiporas went sky high in pricing....because people had to name them LE superman/ pokerstar/ rainbow/ sunset/ whatever. It usually comes in waves according to what the hot coral is at that time. Some species will just always be expensive like hippo tangs (thanx Pixar). I can order in literally thousands of hippo tangs no problem but the fact that there are so many doesn't drop the price because the demand is so high.
