I recently had a small fish die. Then, after the fish died, my purple lobster grabed his body and took it into his hiding area/cave. Should I remove this dead fish, even if it means upsetting my lobster? I would imagine that the dead body must be bad for the tank.

24 gl aquapod(was my 1st fish that died, all tank has now is 2 fire shrmp , 1 purple lobster, and a very small clean up crew(im slowly building my tank, next is 2 clowns in about 3 weeks.)

I'd leave it. Let them feast. I've lost a fish here and there in my rocks that would be impossible to remove. The scavengers make quick work of it. That's what they do.

I would remove it if its possible. Its a haven for all sorts of bad stuff, including whatever killed it. If something could eat it quick, I wouldn't see a problem but this doesn't appear to be the case if its being passed along from one invert to another

I have a PRL in my tank for over a year now, he's about 4" & only eats fish that die or are sick enought to catch (saves me the trouble). I have two firefish a small CBS & a skunk cleaner & as long as they don't fall asleep in his cave, they're OK
