I'm out on the left coast this week. In Southern California (Orange County) in particular. Anyone know of any good LFS's out here or any other reef related must see's?
I was out in SF last month but didn't get a chance to buy anything. They do seem to have access to different live stock. I didn't want to take the chance of getting it confiscated at the airport. Not sure how you could get it on the plane with the 4oz rule unless you put it with your luggage at check-in.
If you can drive maybe 4 or 5 hours north, you can visit the Monterey Bay aquarium, and go kayaking in Monterey Bay. The Pacific Coast(al) Highway is very scenic and worth the trip!
Most of the big distributors are around LAX the LA airport, thats were most of the pacific stock comes into the country. I think Blue zoo is there you can call (888) 479-BLUE (2583) also ReeferMadness I cut this from there site
OPEN TO THE PUBLIC - Monday-Friday 9am-12pm and 1pm-5pm - No appointment necessary!

Unfortunately, I am not able to drive up north to SF or LA. I guess I should have prefaced my original post with me having grown up here and lived in SF for a while as well. I hadn't yet discovered reefing back then. My searches of LFS's have been unimpressive.
Ok, I found a small brand new LFS here. They have a ton of frags at very reasonable prices. I might pick up some for myself and the some for the swap. Has anyone transported livestock via airplane? I'm thinking a small cooler and checking it.
For OC, Jeff's Exotic Fish have a few locations. Tong's in Fountain Valley used to be pretty good. Post on the SOCAL forum on RC for more current reef hot spots, I have not been there looking for corals in a few years, I do miss all the LFS and selections, much better than NY.
